Our Cement Driveways

Thinking of building a new cement driveway in Great Falls Montana or simply need to fix an old one? Whatever the case, our team is ready to take it on. We've got the tools and knowledge to do everything from pouring a new slab to stamping it. Here's a little bit more about each different service we offer below:

Installation

Pouring a new driveway is an important step in any home or business owner's life. These surfaces not only offer easy access to the garage, but they also give you extra parking space and protect the soil surrounding your home from deep tire ruts and heavy objects. Here at K&G, we generally handle this process as follows:

We begin by first prepping the ground. Your concrete driveway is traced out and then eight inches to a foot of dirt is removed. This is replaced with a compacted layer of gravel that protects the overlying cement from freezing temperatures and moisture.

A mold is then built from "forms", or straight, wooden boards attached to stakes in the ground. These are used to keep everything contained as your parking space cures over the next couple of days. Concrete is then poured and spread out evenly. A "scree", or straight edge, is used to knock down any high spots and flatten the surface, while a bullrake is then employed to smooth everything out. Finally, our concrete driveway contractors near Great Falls will lay a plastic sheet over the top of the slab to help it retain moisture as it finishes curing. Any questions or concerns? Repair

If you've noticed cracks or holes forming in your cement, we can help! Our crew can help with concrete driveway repair in Great Falls MT every day of the year and for a variety of different projects. Here's a little bit more about the different services we offer below:
Cracks & Holes
These can be fixed using a simple patch. We'll seal up the damage with a vinyl or mortar compound that'll help keep moisture out and keep the cracks or holes from spreading. If this doesn't work, or there's too much to repair, we can actually go ahead and resurface the entire area with a skim coat of cement. This fills in any damage and leaves the surface of your driveway looking like new once again.
uneven Cement
As the soil surrounding your home settles, you may occasionally be left with a cement slab that's out of level. This is a fairly normal occurrence as time goes on, but we can easily fix these using a couple of different techniques. The first is known as "concrete lifting", and involves injecting pressurized foam or filler underneath your driveway. Once this has been finished and everything is back to level, we'll patch the holes and any cracks!

If this doesn't work, another technique known as "piering" can be used. In this case, a large metal jack is driven into the ground and then lifted to push up any low edges or corners.
Structural Damage
There is unfortunately little we can do about structural damage. In this case, cement driveway repair in Great Falls isn't possible, and we'll need to replace the entire slab. Questions about this process or pricing? Give us a call today at 406-412-3018!
